Summary
A new record of Phytocrene oblonga Wall. (Icacinaceae) is documented for Singapore, expanding the known distribution of this species from a single historical collection in Nee Soon Swamp Forest to its current presence. This discovery complements the more widespread and frequently collected P. bracteata Wall., which is also cultivated at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The study provides detailed typification, descriptions, an illustration of P. oblonga, and photographs for both species, along with a key to distinguish them. This contribution advances the understanding of Singapore's flora by clarifying taxonomic boundaries and distribution patterns within this genus.
