Summary

Tourist experiences on Mount Huangshan, China, are revealed to be mobile and situational, evolving dynamically through geographic, sensory, social, and emotional dimensions. This study introduces an integrated methodology combining GPS tracking, sound level sensing, wearable physiological sensors, Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) surveys, in-situ photos/videos, and photo/video-elicited interviews to capture these multi-dimensional aspects in real-time. The approach demonstrates how tourist experiences shift throughout their journey, offering a comprehensive framework for future research on the dynamics of tourism. Practical implications include enhanced understanding of visitor behavior, which can inform conservation efforts and site management at UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Mount Huangshan.
