Summary

Researchers have developed a hybrid-electric small passenger craft designed to reduce environmental impact and energy consumption in the Venice Lagoon. The craft features an innovative hullform that minimizes wave generation, thereby lowering its effect on nearby buildings and improving energy efficiency. Additionally, it incorporates a Low Voltage Direct Current (LVDC) Integrated Power System enabling zero-emission navigation under certain conditions. This design addresses the urgent need for sustainable mobility solutions in high-tourist areas, particularly where traditional public transport relies heavily on water-based vehicles.
