Summary

Researchers determined that the Copace model best represents the hygroscopicity of 'cajuzinho-do-cerrado' achenes (Anacardium humile St. Hil.), with an integral isosteric heat of desorption ranging from 2,734.82 to 2,548.49 kJ kg-1 for moisture content between 4.51 and 13.40 (% d.b.). The study involved collecting achenes from Emas National Park in Brazil, drying them under controlled conditions, and analyzing their desorption isotherms at temperatures of 10, 20, 30, and 40 °C using the indirect static method. This finding provides critical data for understanding the moisture adsorption behavior of this Cerrado species, which could have implications for its conservation and utilization in protected areas like Emas National Park.
