Summary

Approximately 10% of the houses in Yangdong Village are directly exposed to the risk of forest fires due to their proximity to forested areas and vulnerable construction materials. An additional 5% face potential secondary fire hazards from the spread of initial blazes. The study employed GIS-based raster analysis to map house locations and materials, followed by numerical heat flux simulations to assess fire risk. Findings underscore the need for targeted forest fire prevention strategies, including fuel removal, buffer zone creation, and waterproof infrastructure, to mitigate risks to these culturally significant timber-framed structures.
