Summary

Recent research on the Central Agora of Hierapolis, a lesser-known monument in Turkey's Phrygia region, has yielded significant insights into its early-imperial structure and transformations. By systematically examining preserved architectural materials within the Pamukkale Thermal lake and integrating geophysical survey data with archive documentation, researchers reconstructed the square's plan and elevation. This reconstruction sheds light on the urban configuration of Microasiatic agorai during the first imperial age, providing a clearer understanding of this pivotal period in Hierapolis' history.
