Summary
A study at the iSimangaliso Wetland Park in South Africa reveals that while visitors widely recognize the importance of ethical visitor behavior (EVB), they apply these principles heterogeneously and with limited active engagement. The research, based on surveys of 323 respondents, found significant variations in perceptions across different socio-demographic groups. These insights suggest that authorities could leverage this understanding to develop more effective strategies for promoting EVB at World Heritage Sites, particularly in developing countries where such studies remain scarce.
