Summary
A significant portion of professional divers in Ujung Kulon National Park exhibit lung function impairments, with 87.5% displaying symptoms of restriction and obstruction. Only 12.5% maintain normal forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), and FEV1/FVC ratio, indicating age-related variability in lung health among divers aged 20-59 years. The study employed a cross-sectional approach, involving spirometry tests on all 24 professional divers at the site. Findings highlight critical respiratory risks for divers, particularly those over 30, underscoring the need for targeted health monitoring and interventions to mitigate age-related decline in lung function.
