Summary
A breakthrough in the digital preservation of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, particularly for Borobudur Temple, has been achieved through an integrated high-definition visualization framework. This method successfully combines disparate data sources—including photos, CAD drawings, and written descriptions—to create a comprehensive 3D digital archive, even for damaged or inaccessible parts of historical structures. By employing stochastic point-based rendering (SPBR), the framework enables precise and comprehensible visualization of entire sites, addressing gaps left by traditional 3D scanning limitations. The approach is scalable and adaptable to other large-scale cultural heritage sites, offering a robust solution for long-term digital preservation and analysis.
