Summary
A significant majority of the community, including affected merchants and landowners, supports the Borobudur Temple merchant and parking relocation project, with 78.6% of nearby residents and 96.7% of landowners expressing favorable opinions. Public participation in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process, through consultations and socialization activities, proved effective in addressing concerns and gathering valuable feedback. The study, conducted from March 25 to 28, 2021, used a mixed descriptive method involving 150 respondents across three groups: local residents, merchants, and landowners. The findings highlight the importance of community engagement in large-scale heritage management projects, demonstrating how structured participation can lead to better understanding and acceptance of relocation plans.
