Summary

Research at the Engelhardt Astronomical Observatory (EAO) of Kazan Federal University reveals that interstellar extinction laws significantly influence photometric system parameters, particularly in UBV and PSC UBV systems. The study found that differences in reaction curve positions are proportional to variations in color indices when different extinction models are applied. Spectral characteristics of filters used in observations also play a crucial role in determining these differences. Notably, the transformation of stellar magnitudes between standard photometric systems is affected by differing response curves, while color index differences remain consistent regardless of spectral or luminosity classes for any given extinction model. This work leverages a digital database of astrophysical observations and specialized software to analyze brightness characteristics, providing insights with broad implications for astronomical data interpretation.
