Summary

Ujung Kulon National Park harbors six large mammal species, including the endangered Javan rhinoceros (Rhinoceros sondaicus) and the critically endangered Javan hawk-eagle (Spizaetus bartelsi), with moderate diversity and evenness indices. This preliminary study, conducted across four research stations in 2021 using line transects and variable circular-plot methods, provides foundational data for vertebrate sub-concept development. Species richness was low, suggesting limited large mammal populations or detection challenges. The findings highlight the park's biodiversity value while underscoring the need for targeted conservation efforts to support threatened species.
