Summary
A survey of Cimenteng village, located within Ujung Kulon National Park, identified 48 medicinal plants with potential for cultivation and use by local communities. Of these, 20 were cultivated in home gardens while 28 grew wild around them, suggesting significant untapped potential for agrotourism development. The study used a combination of survey and interview methods—both quantitative and qualitative—to gather data through field observations and direct interviews, with results analyzed descriptively. This research highlights the economic benefits that could arise from managing these medicinal plants, positioning Cimenteng as a viable candidate for agrotourism, which could provide sustainable livelihoods for its residents while preserving the biodiversity of the UNESCO-listed Ujung Kulon National Park.
