Summary

An innovative seismometric monitoring system installed at the Temple of Neptune in Paestum, Italy, demonstrates high accuracy and stability in assessing the structure's static and dynamic response. Preliminary results reveal correlations between the temple’s daily behavior and weather changes, such as temperature fluctuations. Developed collaboratively by the University of Salerno and the Archaeological Park of Paestum and Velia (PAEVE), this system combines mechanical and electronic components to enable proactive maintenance strategies. The findings underscore the potential of advanced monitoring technologies to enhance preservation efforts for UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
