Summary
Despite its status as an endangered UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park (PNCV) in Goiás, Brazil, holds significant international and biodiversity importance. The study highlights that strategic governance through multilevel and inter-federative approaches—bridging local and global interactions—is crucial for achieving sustainable development and mitigating ongoing threats to the park's conservation. Researchers employed a qualitative case study method, analyzing national and international documents, legal frameworks, and scholarly literature to assess the park's environmental relevance post-creation and during its endangered status period. The findings underscore the urgent need for strengthened governance mechanisms to safeguard this critical heritage site.
