Tourism Development for Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur (TWCB)

Borobudur Temple Compounds, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and iconic Buddhist temple in Central Java, Indonesia, faces the challenge of balancing increased tourism with conservation efforts. The study proposes a sustainable development model that enhances visitor experience while adhering to UNESCO's ethical guidelines. It introduces four key realms—entertainment, education, aesthetics, and escapism—to guide tourism management, aiming to expand Borobudur's cultural value beyond mere visitor numbers. The approach combines literature review with explorative descriptions, focusing on marketing strategies, competition analysis, sustainable visitor experiences, and ethical considerations. This model seeks to preserve Borobudur's historical, religious, and cultural significance while promoting quality tourism for international visitors.
