Summary
A comprehensive inventory of rodent species diversity in Wuyi Mountain National Nature Reserve, China, reveals 16 species belonging to eight families, with dominant species like Niviventer fulvescens and N. confucianus exhibiting broad altitude distribution ranges. Bamboo planting areas showed the highest species richness and diversity indices, while farmland harbored the most dominant but least diverse rodent communities. The study classifies rodent communities into three distinct types—meadow, forest, and farmland—and provides critical insights for biodiversity conservation in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
