Summary
Agricultural productivity in Al-Ahsa Oasis, Saudi Arabia, significantly increased by 16.8% to 19.2% when palm and lemon crops were irrigated with triple-treated wastewater compared to groundwater. This study, based on a random sample of 355 farms, found a statistically significant positive correlation between the use of treated wastewater and factors such as farm size, family size, and farmer education level. Conversely, there was a negative correlation with the age and experience of farmers. The research highlights the economic potential and environmental benefits of using triple-treated wastewater in agriculture, addressing the high water consumption demands of the sector.
