Summary
A novel system for planned maintenance of architectural heritage, including UNESCO World Heritage Sites, has been developed through ongoing research since 2015. This study focuses on the Sacri Monti of Piedmont and Lombardy, a site inscribed in 2003, to create standardized procedures and protocols for conservation. The approach leverages High-Definition Building Information Modeling (HBIM) to organize and manage an easily updatable database, facilitating efficient intervention programs. The research, part of a European-funded project involving Italian and Swiss partners, aims to bridge the gap between 3D survey data and practical maintenance strategies, offering a scalable model for heritage preservation.
