Summary
A recent study reveals that Huangshan City's tourism ecological security (TES) has shown rapid improvement, yet disparities between districts and counties are widening. The research, using the PSR-EES model combined with entropy weight TOPSIS, traditional and spatial Markov chains, and panel quantile regression, found that TES levels exhibit stability and path dependence in their spatial-temporal dynamics, with lower-level areas showing a higher probability of upward transfer influenced by neighborhood background. Key drivers include environmental pollution and economic development, which negatively impact TES but decrease in effect as security levels improve. Conversely, government intervention and educational levels positively influence TES, with regional greening and government efforts having stronger effects on lower-level areas. This study highlights the complex interplay between ecological, economic, and social factors in sustaining tourism ecological security.
