Summary
Video camera traps have proven to be a promising tool for quantifying the behavior of the critically endangered Javan rhinoceros (Rhinoceros sondaicus) in Ujung Kulon National Park. This study, conducted on ten individuals, provides baseline behavioral data by analyzing both the duration and frequency of specific activities, offering new insights into the reclusive species' ethogram. The research suggests that video traps can effectively capture detailed behavioral observations, which are essential for understanding and conserving this endangered rhinoceros population.
