Summary
The Etruscan fortifications of Cerveteri, once part of the significant city-state Caere, face severe conservation challenges due to prolonged abandonment and uncontrolled vegetation. While these conditions threaten structural integrity, they also create a unique archaeological landscape where architecture and nature coexist precariously. This study highlights the importance of preserving this evocative symbiosis and proposes a conservative approach to manage the relationship between ruins and vegetation. The research focuses on the deteriorating state of the fortifications, offering insights into their preservation while maintaining their historical and environmental significance.
