Summary
A balanced, sustainable development model for the Lithuanian Curonian Spit and Neringa Municipality has been proposed, integrating natural conservation, cultural heritage preservation, and recreation. The study distinguishes five longitudinal sectors along the spit, each tailored to specific conservation and development priorities. However, political conflicts between authorities hinder effective planning, highlighting the need for unified, integrated management plans that combine national park strategies with municipal master plans. This approach aims to resolve ideological, legal, and planning inconsistencies while fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
