Summary
A transition to organic and agroecological management in rural settlements of the Chapada dos Veadeiros region has significantly enhanced sustainability, particularly by reducing environmental impacts. The study, using the AMBITEC-AGRO system, found a 3.73% reduction in environmental impact indices after the shift, with improvements also noted in economic (7.70%) and social dimensions (7.19%). Key factors contributing to these gains included increased employment, income, consumer benefits, and health outcomes. The research employed a three-stage approach involving surveys, questionnaires, and interviews, followed by data analysis using weighting matrices to generate impact indices.
