Summary

Researchers have identified two new species of the stonefly genus Nemoura (Plecoptera: Nemouridae) in Shennongjia National Park, Hubei Province, China. The newly described species, N. liuqifeii and N. shennongjia, contribute to the understanding of biodiversity within this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The study also examines the relationships between these new species and similar ones in the genus. Additionally, three female specimens of an undetermined Nemoura were documented but could not be linked to existing or newly described species. This research highlights the importance of Shennongjia's unique ecosystems and expands our knowledge of stonefly diversity in the region.
