Summary

Agricultural carbon emissions and absorption in Hubei Province exhibit distinct spatial patterns, with Xiangyang, Jingzhou, and Huanggang as high-emission centers, while Shennongjia, Enshi, and Yichang show lower emissions. Carbon sinks are concentrated in arable lands, particularly in Yichang, Jingmen, and Huanggang, forming a U-shaped distribution. The study identifies seven carbon-positive, five neutral, and five negative areas, proposing tailored strategies for low-carbon development across functional zones to balance emissions and absorption. This research combines spatial analysis with functional zoning to guide coordinated ecological governance.
