Summary
Research in the Cerrado Protected Areas of Chapada dos Veadeiros and Emas National Parks, Brazil, identified four new species of Piperaceae, contributing significantly to the region's biodiversity. The study focused on Capões de Mata (isolated forest patches) and Mata de Galeria (gallery forests), documenting a total of 11 species—seven from the genus Piper and four from Peperomia. It included an identification key, distribution notes, and photographs to aid taxonomy. This work expands the known flora of the Cerrado biome, particularly in understudied protected areas.
